FERROUS metals

Our waterjet will cut all grades of steels leaving a smooth cut on the edge without burn marks, cracking, excess heat input, or other problems typically associated with heat-based cutting or mechanical cutting. Tool steel can be cut in a fully hardened state without any change in material properties.

COMPOSITE

Our waterjet will cut almost all types of composites. Waterjet cutting leaps over the hurdles typically presented when manufacturing plastics. The ability to hold tight tolerances while cutting at speed and less tooling to wear out makes waterjet cutting a very practical option for manufacturing with composites. 

STONE

Stone cut on OMAX systems cuts quickly and cleanly. Cutting stones up to 6" thick or tiles as thin as 1/4" with high precision is sure to aid your next project.

NON-FERROUS

More aluminum is cut on OMAX systems than any other metal because it cuts so quickly and cleanly, without any thermal distortion. More and more laser specialty shops are adding an OMAX system to their mix of lasers in order to accurately cut thicker aluminum. We even have the ability of cutting wood and other non conductive materials 

GLASS

Advantages of abrasive waterjet cutting include no tool clogging or wear, no need to change tooling, no melting, and no restrictions due to heat build up. Fiberglass and glass can be cut quickly and cleanly without hazardous dust or fumes by simply submerging the material during cutting.

PLASTIC

The material distortions associated with machining plastic on conventional CNC machines no longer comes into play when using the cold cutting method of a waterjet. The ability to easily machine foam, rubber, and acrylic as well as all the previously listed materials gives waterjets an edge as a multi-use value-add tool.
